The Duomo is the main monument of the village,
a symbol of the rebirth of Venzone after it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1976.
Building first started in 1300 and it was then consecrated by the patriarch Bertrando in 1338.
Aside from the portals which date from the XIV century, one can also admire the 14th century
frescos, the only ones to remain almost in their entirety after the quake.
A number of the mummies housed in the Chapel of San Michele were found inside the Duomo.
The Duomo is open every day except when there are religious fuctions taking place.
